Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team at Actalent. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing automation solutions for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement automation programs using CodeSys as a development platform, primarily using Structured Text programming language, but also supporting other IEC-3 standard programming languages for PLCs.
  • Perform integration of EtherCAT networked servo drives for synchronized motion execution of multi-axis systems with complex motion profiles using CodeSys.
  • Integrate machine I/O devices, which can include but are not limited to fieldbus devices (e.g., EtherCAT, Ethernet/IP, IOLink, digital and analog) using CodeSys.
  • Develop Human-Machine-Interface (HMI) applications utilizing CodeSys HMI features and Allen-Bradley PanelView.
  • Develop Functional Safety PLC applications using Bosch Rexroth CtrlX Safety controllers integrated with Bosch Rexroth CtrlX servo drives.
  • Use industry best practices for PLC program development, such as variable definition and use, object-oriented-programming, identifying, and avoiding race conditions.
  • Integrate and test PLC control system with external traditional software applications via network interfaces using UDP and/or TCP communications or protocols.
