Position Title: Splunk Security Operations Engineer
Location: Houston, TX (100% Onsite)
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Required Experience: 5+ years
This role is integral to the IT Security & Compliance team, focusing on the installation, configuration, administration, and support of tools that safeguard our information assets and systems, particularly within our Splunk Enterprise environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the IT Security team to enhance the security posture of the organization.
- Administer and maintain the Splunk Enterprise infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and execute advanced queries using SPL or other scripting languages to create dashboards, design data models, and establish correlation rules for effective log data analysis.
- Provide support across both Windows and Linux environments, demonstrating strong analytical skills for troubleshooting.
- Create comprehensive documentation of processes, define technical specifications, and develop network & system architecture diagrams.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in network, server, or workstation administration.
- At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Splunk Enterprise engineering and administration.
- Proven ability to configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premise Splunk Enterprise infrastructure.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Splunk Certified Admin or Architect certification.
- Experience in implementing and supporting Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) tools.
