About the Position

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Veterinarian to join our team at the County of Lake, CA. As a key member of our Animal Control department, you will be responsible for providing medical services to animals, inspecting and investigating animal-related incidents, and enforcing applicable laws and regulations.

Job Responsibilities

  • ">
  • Provide medical services to animals, including preventative care, treatment, and control of diseases and injuries.">
  • Inspect and investigate animal-related incidents, diagnose and prevent contagious and infectious diseases of animals.">
  • Perform spay/neuter services on adoptions, qualified low-income applicants, and community cats.">
  • Enforce applicable laws and regulations related to animal welfare and public health.">
  • Work collaboratively with other departments and agencies to achieve shared goals and objectives.">

Requirements

  • ">
  • Graduation with a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from an accredited institution.">
  • Possession of a valid California Veterinary License and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate as issued by the U.S. Department of Justice.">
  • At least 2 years of directly related experience in veterinary medicine or a related field.">
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.">
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.">
