The Procurement and Import Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the entire supply chain process, encompassing production, procurement, and logistics. This position is essential for optimizing operational efficiency and productivity. The coordinator will oversee inventory levels and order management, as well as forecast future supply requirements. Additionally, this role involves coordinating all import shipments, analyzing, managing, and planning the purchasing and import processes to ensure precision and timely delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and coordinate the movement of imported ocean containers.
  • Receive and verify shipping documents from international suppliers, ensuring accuracy in item and purchase order details.
  • Collaborate with transportation providers to ensure the efficient execution of logistics processes, including securing shipping space, confirming estimated arrival times, and managing routing and delivery schedules.
  • Proactively identify potential shipment issues and communicate with stakeholders to implement effective solutions.
  • Ensure all import documentation is accurately submitted to customs brokers for both ocean and air shipments.
  • Monitor shipment statuses and confirm customs and freight clearance.
  • Organize the delivery of shipments from the port to the warehouse as directed.
  • Conduct audits of customs entry summaries for assigned shipments, ensuring compliance with established procedures.
  • Utilize appropriate HTS codes for imports.
  • Negotiate freight rates with transportation providers to achieve cost reductions and improve service quality.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of experience in a supply chain role, including production, procurement, and logistics.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with a data-driven approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and previous management experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Creative problem-solving skills.
  • Proven capability to work under pressure.
  • Assertive and collaborative, with the ability to inspire others.
  • Strong time management and initiative.
  • Proficient in computer applications, with OMS knowledge considered a plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows and Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
