Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at South Austin Hospital TX, specializing in the ECMO ICU. This role is crucial for providing exceptional care to patients requiring advanced cardiac support.

Job Specifications
  • Contract Type: RN - ECMO ICU, Night Shift 00A-7:00P
  • On-Call Requirement: None
  • Experience Required: ECMO
Essential Qualifications
  • Proficient in cardiac monitoring and rhythm interpretation
  • Experience with titratable infusions
  • Solid understanding of hemodynamic principles
  • Familiarity with respiratory care: ventilators, Bipap, tracheostomy, airvo
  • Experience in post-operative care for open heart surgery patients
  • Knowledge of ECMO, Impella devices, and balloon pumps
  • Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) and SLED
  • Charge nurse experience in CVICU is preferred
Work Schedule

The position requires:

  • 4 weekend shifts for day shift (Saturday/Sunday)
  • 6 weekend shifts for night shift (Friday/Saturday/Sunday)
Unit Information

The CVICU unit at South Austin Hospital TX features:

  • Location: 4th Floor
  • Number of Beds: 8
  • Staffing: 25 professionals, including charge nurses and RNs for both shifts
  • Patient Ratios: 2:1, 1:1
  • Equipment: GE bedside monitors, Alaris IV pumps, Pyxis, Centrimag ECMO Circuits, Impella devices, Prismax CRRT machines, Tablo SLED machines, Maquet Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps
  • EMR System: Meditech
  • Permanent Positions: Yes
