About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deli Department Assistant Manager to join our team at Hornbacher's. As a key member of our deli team, you will be responsible for assisting the Deli Department Manager with all functions of operating a successful department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Deli Department Manager with daily operations, including slicing, weighing, packaging, and labeling of deli items.
  • Provide exceptional customer service to guests at the deli counter, ensuring a positive and memorable experience.
  • Accurately record and maintain inventory, shrink, and expense control records.
  • Direct staff when in charge of the department, including directing workload, counseling, training, performance evaluations, and supervision.
  • Rotate and remove out-of-date merchandise to ensure freshness and quality.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a deli or food service environment preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask effectively.
