Infection Control Specialist

The Infection Control Preventionist is a highly skilled individual with in-depth knowledge of CDC guidelines, TJC standards, federal and state regulations.
The Practitioner is responsible for the identification, investigation, reporting, prevention, and control of hospital-acquired infections among patients and personnel.
Assisting with in-service programs related to infection prevention and control is also a key responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of complete infection control/prevention process in the healthcare setting.
- Conduct concurrent infection control surveillance using targeted patient and employee surveillance indicators approved by the Therapeutics Committee.
- Analyze infection control data and present to appropriate audiences, including community awareness.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all aspects of infection control, attending continuing education programs as needed.
- Develop, review, and revise infection control policies and procedures as indicated or at a minimum every 3 years.
The ideal candidate will possess a current RN licensure in the State of Tennessee, BLS Certification upon hire, and a minimum of 2 years experience in infection control practice in a hospital setting.
Certification by the Board of Practitioners of Infection Control and Epidemiology is preferred.
