Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Manage and expand the Detection Engineering team, setting clear vision, priorities, and strategies to drive business outcomes.
- Technical Expertise: Provide technical leadership and expertise in building robust engineering solutions and pipelines to perform data ingestion, curation, and correlation, embracing Detection-as-Code principles and models.
- Collaboration and Communication: Establish productive relationships and partnerships across the company with leaders in other organizations, such as Engineering, Legal, and IT, to drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment.
- Strategic Planning: Innovate, study, and research the evolution of the threat landscape and the most recent adversarial techniques to strategize the most effective detection engineering plan, partnering with Product Security and Redteam teams.
- Operational Excellence: Coordinate execution and collaborate across teams to unblock cross-cutting projects, ensuring seamless delivery of detection capabilities.
- Leadership Experience: 2-4 years of prior management experience of Engineering or Security teams.
- Technical Expertise: Typically 12+ years of experience or an advanced degree + 8 years of experience (preferably focused on detection, incident response, and/or threat intelligence).
- Domain Expertise: Sufficient domain expertise to review the work of the team, with a solid understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals, technical expertise on common threats and attacks observed on endpoints, cloud, network, and identity.
- Machine Learning: Knowledge of Machine Learning methods applied to solve Detection Engineering problems.
- Competitive Compensation: Zone 1 Pay Range: $182,900 — $323,500 USD.
