Position Overview:
Fairview Health Services is seeking an Environmental Services Associate to join our dedicated team. This role is essential in ensuring that our facilities remain clean, organized, and hygienic for all patients and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
As an Environmental Services Associate, your duties will include:
- Maintaining a thorough understanding of and compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
- Actively engaging in initiatives aimed at enhancing clinical outcomes and operational efficiency.
- Performing daily cleaning of patient rooms to ensure a sanitary environment.
- Preparing units for patient discharge and conducting end-of-day cleaning in procedural areas.
- Ensuring cleanliness in common areas, including hard surface and carpeted floors, offices, and public spaces, while managing waste disposal effectively.
- Responding promptly to spills and breakages to mitigate safety hazards.
- Completing special assignments as directed and reporting back to supervisors to meet departmental standards.
- Understanding and adhering to security protocols regarding medications and IV solutions.
- Restocking supplies and maintaining linen distribution to support patient care.
- Utilizing cleaning supplies and equipment safely and efficiently to promote cost-effectiveness.
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
Preferred Skills:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Ability to lift and transport moderate to heavy items.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational capabilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced work environment.
- Basic understanding of safety and sanitation protocols.
