Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business teams to gather and refine business requirements.
  • Analyze functional requirements and develop technical requirements/specifications.
  • Investigate ways to apply delivered technology as a solution to business problems.
  • Code new programs and modules as well as changes to existing programs and modules.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent diploma.
  • Have completed one year of college coursework with a concentration in Computer Information Science or equivalent.
  • Have completed the following courses or equivalent:
    • Introduction to Computing and Information Sciences
    • Programming Logic - Data Structures and Introduction to Database Concepts with Microsoft Access
  • Participants will be required to take three pre-determined Computer Science courses or equivalents during the one-year apprenticeship:
    • Web Design-Server-Side Programming with PHP and MySQL
    • Database Management System
    • Structured Query Language (SQL) and PL/SQL
