Position Overview:

CIFC's Danbury Early Learning Programs is seeking to hire a Child Development Associate (CDA) Specialist.


Role Summary:

This role involves supporting 1-2 classrooms in the organization and execution of daily routines, educational curriculum, meal preparation, and associated activities for children aged 6 months to 5 years.

The individual will assist in a classroom setting with 14 to 20 preschoolers and/or 7 to 8 infants/toddlers.

The primary responsibility is to aid in the essential functions of the Head Start program while also performing additional tasks as required.


Supervision:

CDA Specialists will work under the guidance of 1-2 designated Lead Teachers and will be overseen by the Education Services Professional.

Immediate Supervisor:

Education Services Professional


Classification:

Standard / Part-Time (Hourly)


Work Schedule:

1:45 PM - 5:45 PM (Monday - Friday)


Employment Status:

Non-Exempt


Supervisory Responsibilities:

None


Qualifications:
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • This is an entry-level position; prior experience in babysitting or childcare is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills are necessary (e.g., email, word processing, internet navigation).
  • Bilingual candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • A High School Diploma or GED equivalent (completed or currently enrolled) is required.
  • Early Childhood Education Credits are preferred; Associate and/or Bachelor degrees are also preferred.

Health Requirements:
  • Recent documentation confirming freedom from communicable diseases (e.g., TB and COVID).
  • Recent fit-for-duty examination.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
