Technical Designer Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Designer to join our team at Topson Downs. This is a full-time, temporary (3-month) role with the potential to become a longer-term engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Accurately create detailed technical flat sketches.
  • Conduct precise garment measurements.
  • Develop and update BOMs and Measurement Sets using best-practices methodology and brand-specific guidelines.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive, brand-conscious tech pack creation and maintenance.
  • Participate in garment fittings with live models and buyers.
  • Identify and address fit issues and workmanship challenges at all stages of sampling.
  • Work within brand-specific design aesthetics, fit, and construction guidelines to bring styles from concept to completion.
  • Complete ad-hoc tasks and assignments as directed by management.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in the fashion industry, with a focus on garment development.
  • Experience working on apparel for Walmart is a plus.
  • Degree or certification in Fashion Design, Product Development, or a related field is a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of materials, construction, and fit.
  • Advanced computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience with 3D Browzwear, specifically V-stitcher, is a plus.
  • Familiarity with PLM systems like Flex PLM or Andromeda NGC is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with short lead times.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a constantly changing environment.
  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and relationships effectively.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 20 lbs., perform repetitive motions, and work in a standing position.
  • Must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
