Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisory Nurse to join our team at the Indian Health Service. As a Supervisory Nurse, you will be responsible for providing guidance and oversight to nursing personnel, reviewing and revising policies and procedures, and managing special projects and staff schedules.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide guidance to nursing personnel of the inpatient unit
  • Review and/or revise policies and procedures
  • Manage special projects and staff schedule
  • Implement accreditation requirements
  • Develop and implement a plan of care for assigned patients based on the nursing process
  • Promote performance improvement, ensure compliance with standards of care including safety and infection control
Requirements

To qualify for this position, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-9 grade level in the Federal service. This experience must have equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position.

You must also meet the minimum qualifications stated below.

Education and Licensure

You must have a graduate or higher level degree, bachelor's degree, associate degree, or diploma from an accredited professional nursing educational program. You must also have a current, active, full, and unrestricted license or registration as a professional nurse from a State, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or a territory of the United States.
