Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Renown Health. As a Palliative Care Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with serious and terminal illnesses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and manage the care of patients with serious and terminal illnesses, including those in hospice, outpatient palliative care, and inpatient palliative care settings.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that address the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of patients and their families.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care, including pain and symptom management, and address complex medical and social issues.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families, promoting self-care and empowerment.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures that enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Master's prepared registered nurse (RN) with a focus on palliative care or a related field.
  • Two years of experience as an RN, with a minimum of six months of experience as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Valid Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license with the State of Nevada, Controlled Substance License to Prescribe, and Controlled Substance Registration Certificate issued by the DEA.
  • Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (A-GNP), or Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) Certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners Certification Board (AANPCB).
