Job Summary:

The Respiratory Therapist provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients of all ages, from neonatal to geriatric, in a variety of settings, including general, acute, and emergency care. This includes routine cardiopulmonary diagnostics, emergency resuscitation, airway management, ventilator support, blood gas analysis, phlebotomy, and electrocardiograms. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a team-oriented approach to patient care, adhering to regulatory requirements under the direction of a Medical Director.

Responsibilities include assessing, treating, supporting, and diagnosing patients with cardiopulmonary disorders, as well as documenting care in accordance with policy and procedures.

In addition, the Respiratory Therapist working in Sleep Medicine will perform specialized procedures, such as polysomnograms, MSLTs, and titrations of CPAP or BIPAP, to provide diagnostic information regarding patients' neurological and/or pulmonary function during sleep.

Requirements include a graduate degree from an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Care, successful completion of the NRBC Exam, and licensure by the appropriate state with blood gas endorsement. CPR certification in basic life support is required, with ACLS, PALS, and NALS preferred.

**Licenses and Certifications:**

* Valid and active CRT certification or licensure in appropriate state
* Obtain Sleep Disorder Specialty (SDS) endorsement or obtain registry status through BRPT or ABSM within 12 months of hire
* AHA BLS required

**Work Requirements:**

* Shift: Night
* On Call: No
* Weekends: Rotating
* Travel Required: No Travel
* Location: Holston Valley Medical Center
