">Magnet Medical is seeking a highly skilled travel nurse to join our team as a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) specialist. This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced nurses to showcase their expertise in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
">Salary & Benefits
">The pay package for this position is competitive, with an estimated salary of $145,000 per year, based on 12 hour shifts and 36 hours per week. Additionally, you will receive a tax-free stipend amount, which will be determined upon confirmation.
">Job Description
">As a CVOR nurse, you will provide specialized care to patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries. You will work closely with the surgical team, including cardiothoracic surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical technologists, to ensure safe and effective care before, during, and after cardiac procedures.
">Key Responsibilities
">- Preoperative patient preparation: Assess patients prior to surgery by reviewing medical histories, allergies, and current medications.
- Preparation of patients physically and emotionally for surgery, explaining procedures and answering questions.
- Ensure all preoperative orders are completed, including labs, imaging, and medications, as prescribed by the surgical team.
- Verify patient identity, surgical site, and procedure using a surgical checklist to ensure patient safety.
- Assist with positioning patients on the operating table to ensure optimal access and comfort during the procedure.
Intraoperative Nursing Care
">You will assist with the setup of the sterile field and ensure all surgical instruments and equipment are ready for use. Monitor the patient's vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, oxygen levels, and blood gases during surgery. Administer medications and fluids as directed by the anesthesiologist or surgeon.
">Postoperative Care
">After the procedure, you will assist with the transfer of the patient from the operating room to the recovery unit or intensive care unit (ICU), ensuring stable vitals and ongoing monitoring. Provide postoperative education to patients and families, including information on recovery, wound care, and activity restrictions.
">Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will need:
">- A current RN license.
- Experience working in a CVOR setting.
- Advanced cardiovascular life support (ACLS) certification.
