Position Overview:

The Scalehouse Operations Coordinator is responsible for managing all scale ticket entries related to manure transactions during the fertilizer season. This role involves guiding truck drivers to the appropriate fields and ensuring the accurate shipment of products. The position may require weekend hours and is influenced by weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze monthly manure samples.
  • Verify that a signed agreement is secured prior to product dispatch.
  • Input scale tickets for manure transactions into the Agris system, ensuring accuracy in all entries.
  • Assign scale tickets to the appropriate fields while preventing over-shipment.
  • Generate Agris reports to confirm that all scale tickets are properly accounted for and matched to the correct contracts.
  • Maintain a systematic filing system within the scalehouse for tickets, contracts, and field data.
  • Communicate with and direct drivers regarding material hauling locations.
  • Provide truck drivers with scale ticket copies, field maps, and necessary directions.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, track fields ready for hauling, and liaise with operations for any questions.
  • Contact local drivers weekly to confirm hauling schedules and inform the Business Operations Manager if truck availability is low.
  • Perform cleaning duties to ensure the scalehouse remains tidy and organized.
  • Coordinate with cleanout teams to provide guidance on work sites and barns.
  • Obtain and maintain an annual Commercial Manure License.

  • Exceptional organizational skills, detail-oriented, capable of prioritizing tasks, and meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to work autonomously.
  • Proficient in reading maps and providing directions to truck drivers.
  • Basic mathematical skills.
  • Competent in computer usage, including email and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Fluency in English.
Preferred:
  • Previous experience in a scalehouse environment.
Equipment Utilized:

Office equipment including fax machines, copiers, computers, printers, telephones, handheld radios, and calculators.
