Job Title: Purchasing Agent

Job Overview:

The Purchasing Agent plays a crucial role in the procurement process, ensuring that the organization secures high-quality goods and services at competitive prices.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages in negotiations with suppliers to obtain optimal pricing and service commitments.
  • Works closely with the Production Manager to identify purchasing needs and relay pertinent information that may affect production schedules.
  • Identifies and develops new supplier relationships when existing vendors do not meet requirements.
  • Reviews bids and awards contracts based on thorough evaluations.
  • Establishes credit terms and coordinates purchase communications with the Accounting Department.
  • Negotiates blanket purchase orders as necessary and monitors costs throughout the contract duration.
  • Addresses and resolves issues in collaboration with the receiving department.
  • Assists Accounts Payable in resolving discrepancies related to invoices.
  • Ensures timely delivery of supplies in partnership with the receiving department.
  • Tracks delayed shipments from purchase orders and collaborates with vendors to resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of purchased inventory by generating reports, managing vendor accounts in company systems, and ensuring proper documentation.

Essential Skills:

  • Proficient in Purchasing processes
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with ERP systems
  • Background in Manufacturing is advantageous

Job Type: This is a Contract-to-Hire position.

Work Environment: This role requires on-site presence during standard business hours.
