Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the produce department, including the storage area, work area, and floral area.
  • Stock and rotate produce, ensuring accurate pricing and tagging.
  • Respond to customer inquiries and provide excellent customer service, including selling and cross-selling products.
  • Receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy, temperature, and quality.
  • Monitor point-of-purchase signs and ensure a variety of recipe cards, product coupons, and promotional materials are available.
  • Operate and use equipment such as knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks.
  • Participate in pre-inventory preparation, including backstock and ensuring tags match products.
  • Run the cut fruit and vegetable program.
  • Take responsibility for sales and profitability in the department.
  • Sustain a high level of product knowledge and product preparation.
  • Walk the department regularly to ensure an organized, sanitary, and clean appearance at all times.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency degree.
  • Preferred 1-2 years of grocery retail experience in the floral department or a related field.
  • Previous experience in a natural foods industry is a plus.
