Job Summary

The Survey Technician will execute complex land surveying assignments, reviewing survey maps and documents for technical accuracy and compliance with local, state, and federal property laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct research on county, city, and other sources of record information to prepare working sketches for field crews.
  • Utilize Trimble Business Center software to process field crew data and produce files for import into AutoCAD.
  • Create survey base drawings using field crew data files, field sketches, photos, and reference maps.
  • Produce detailed subdivision maps, ALTA surveys, topographic surveys, and other survey-related maps or exhibits using AutoCAD software.
  • Prepare legal descriptions and exhibits for right of way, easements, acquisition parcels, etc.
  • Perform QA/QC procedures on work prepared by themselves and others.
Requirements
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Thorough understanding of mathematics used in field survey analysis.
  • Ability to apply methods and standards of technical report writing and computer-assisted surveying applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret a variety of maps, title reports, and legal descriptions.

Work Schedule and Authorization

Topographic OM, Inc. in office Standard business hours is Monday-Friday from 6am-7pm. The specific schedule for this role will be based on location and department.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Travel and Security

Travel to worksites may be required.
