As a Driver Class B at FedEx Freight, you will be responsible for safely operating a straight truck to transport freight between Service Centers and to customers. You will ensure timely delivery and provide excellent customer service while maintaining a safe and professional work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operate straight trucks to transport freight between Service Centers and to customers
• Ensure timely delivery and provide excellent customer service
• Maintain a safe and professional work environment
• Perform daily pre-trip, post-trip, and safety inspections on equipment
• Follow dispatch instructions and communicate with dispatch as required
• Load, unload, or assist in loading and unloading truck
• Perform freight handling using appropriate motorized and manual equipment
• Complete all necessary paperwork and maintain records

Requirements:

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) - Class B; hazardous materials and tank endorsements required
• One year experience in a straight truck or similar sized vehicle within the most recent three years or successful completion of FedEx Freight Driver Development Course
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to count and perform basic math, with or without a calculator
• Ability to read and understand route schedules
• Ability to lift/carry hand freight and other items weighing up to 100 pounds
• Ability to sit for extended periods of time, bend, twist, squat, climb in and out of truck

Working Conditions:

• Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors and drive on all types of roads and in all types of weather
• Exposure to noise and vibration
• Exposure to dust and diesel fumes
• Exposure to hazardous materials shipped and packaged under DOT regulations

Preferred Qualifications:

• Starting rate of pay: $28.16
