Payroll and Bookkeeping Specialist Job Overview


Position Summary
We are seeking a proficient Bookkeeping Specialist to oversee our financial documentation, encompassing transactions related to purchases, sales, receipts, and disbursements.

The Bookkeeping Specialist will collaborate closely with our financial management team to generate and interpret financial reports while ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. Responsibilities will include managing accounts payable and receivable, as well as overseeing invoicing and tax obligations.

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree, ideally with a focus in Finance, and have familiarity with accounting software such as QuickBooks. Ultimately, the Bookkeeping Specialist will be responsible for accurately documenting all daily financial activities of our organization and managing employee payroll.


Key Responsibilities
  • Administer, process, and manage payroll activities.
  • Record daily financial transactions and finalize the posting process for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable.
  • Ensure transactions are accurately logged in the appropriate day book, supplier ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Engage with field personnel to confirm proper coding of invoices.
  • Prepare financial records to the trial balance stage.
  • Conduct partial audits of the posting process.
  • Complete necessary tax documentation.
  • Input data, maintain records, and generate financial reports and statements.
  • Process accounts receivable/payable and manage payroll efficiently.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience in bookkeeping and payroll management.
  • Strong grasp of fundamental bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Proven capability to calculate, post, and manage financial figures and records.
  • Excellent data entry skills with a strong affinity for numbers.
  • Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and specialized software.
  • Proficient in English and MS Office applications.
  • Strong customer service skills and negotiation abilities.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
