POSITION SUMMARY:
The Armed Security Specialist is responsible for providing direct security services and related public safety measures.

Responsibilities


The Armed Security Specialists are tasked with ensuring the safety and security of the facility, its staff, patients, and visitors, acting as a visible deterrent to unlawful activities.

Additionally, they supervise at-risk individuals within the facility and perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Must possess the ability to obtain and maintain relevant licenses or certifications.
Strong visual acuity, including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Must be capable of standing and/or walking for the duration of the shift, lifting or moving objects up to 80 lbs., and assisting in restraining or lifting individuals.
A valid driver's license is required, along with the ability to meet the driving guidelines set by HSS, a Tarian company (if applicable).


Desired Qualifications:
Prior experience in a public-facing service role is preferred.

Armed (Handgun) experience is necessary.

Additional Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Ability to obtain and maintain any necessary local or state permits to carry a weapon.
Must successfully complete initial and ongoing firearms training courses to demonstrate proficiency in firearm use.
Willingness to participate in additional firearms training as required by the firearms instructor.
Must demonstrate a thorough understanding of HSS, a Tarian company's firearms policies.

TASER Qualifications:
Must meet qualification standards upon initial placement in a TASER role and annually thereafter.
Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state permits to carry a TASER.
Must successfully complete additional TASER training as required by the TASER instructor.
Must demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of HSS, a Tarian company's Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER) policies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORKING CONDITIONS

In this role, individuals will be required to walk, stand, sit, observe, and drive for extended periods in various weather conditions. They may need to run, climb stairs, and carry emergency equipment, as well as assist in restraining or lifting individuals. The position may involve lifting and/or moving up to 80 pounds, frequent use of hands to handle objects or controls, and specific vision abilities, including close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Self-motivation and the ability to work independently are essential.

Driving a vehicle may be required.
