About the Position::


If you have a background in meat production and enjoy early shifts, this role may be an excellent fit for you. As a Meat Production Specialist, you will be responsible for managing, cutting, and preparing meat and seafood in accordance with The Fresh Market standards and guest requests.

Your role will also involve assisting with inventory management, pricing accuracy, merchandising, and various operational tasks to ensure top-quality products and exceptional service for our guests.


What You'll Do::

- Oversee production for key items to support Meat-Seafood, Deli-CMS, and other departments as needed.
- Maintain awareness of products and weekly promotions throughout the store, collaborating with other departments to assist guests in finding products and creating meal solutions.
- Skillfully handle, slice, and prepare a variety of prime and premium meat and seafood products, ensuring quality levels meet The Fresh Market standards.
- Monitor the temperature of cases, spillovers, and storage areas.
- Adhere to department practices regarding receiving, stocking, and unloading deliveries to guarantee freshness and quality.
- Ensure compliance with all safety requirements and protocols, including food safety regulations.

Availability::


This position requires a willingness to work a schedule from 3 am to 11 am, with days off typically being Sunday and Wednesday. The Fresh Market offers a shift differential of an additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12 am and 5 am.


As a full-time team member, flexibility is essential to meet the needs of our stores and guests, which may include working weekends, evenings, and holidays.


Qualifications::

All Meat Production Specialists at The Fresh Market must be certified within TFMA within 90 days of hire.

Minimum requirements include:
- A passion for delivering outstanding service
- At least 2 years of experience in meat cutting
- Must be at least 18 years of age

Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in Meat Cutting, Journey Cutting, Culinary, or Grocery sectors
- Familiarity with Production Planning Software
- Background in retail, restaurant, or hospitality industries
- High School Diploma or equivalent

Physical and Work Conditions:
- Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, and the ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds independently
- Exposure to extreme temperatures

Ability to use tools and equipment:
- Proficiency with knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipment (unless under the age of 18)
- Required to stand or walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours or as required by law)
- Must wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, along with personal protective equipment.
