Job Summary
The Ohio Department of Developmental Disabilities is seeking a skilled Therapeutic Program Worker to join our team. As a Therapeutic Program Worker, you will play a critical role in providing direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct support and care to individuals with developmental disabilities, including assistance with daily living activities, personal care, and behavioral support.
- Develop and implement individualized plans to promote the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care.
- Provide training and education to individuals served on skills such as daily living, social skills, and community integration.
- Document and maintain accurate records of individual progress and services provided.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as social work, psychology, or special education.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, preferably in a therapeutic or support role.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with individuals, families, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances.
Working Conditions
This position requires the ability to work in a variety of settings, including residential and community-based programs. The Therapeutic Program Worker may be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to meet the needs of individuals served.
