Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medicaid Compliance Specialist to join our team at Char-Em ISD. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the provision of consulting services, technical assistance, and training to local educational authority staff in interpreting Medicaid policies and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance on Medicaid billing procedures and compliance regulations
  • Develop and conduct professional development workshops for LEA staff on Medicaid policies and procedures
  • Coordinate and analyze data to monitor and provide feedback to local districts regarding Medicaid services
  • Develop and implement standard operating procedures to improve operating quality and efficiency
  • Serve as the primary contact to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services and other entities seeking information regarding Medicaid School Services Program function
  • Facilitate regular communication with member district staff to provide frontline support and respond to requests
  • Conduct Quality Assurance reviews and internal audits to ensure compliance with Medicaid regulations
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid billing and reimbursement rules and requirements
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, public or business administration required
  • Minimum of 5 years' of related experience in Medicaid Service Program, IDEA special education and/or Compliance, regulations, and use in relational databases
