Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pipe Fitter to join our team at Kiewit Corporation. As a Pipe Fitter, you will be responsible for laying out, assembling, installing, and maintaining pipe systems, pipe supports, and related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications, codes, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret isometric drawings, take measurements, fabricate, and install piping efficiently
  • Align, bolt, and clamp together components of fabricated metal products to secure in position for welding
  • Assemble and secure pipes, tubes, fittings, and related equipment according to specifications by welding and threading joints
  • Position and secure materials and workpieces during installation, and install all other items in accordance with the applicable plans and specifications
  • Distinguish varying thickness and types of metal materials
  • Manually handle and securely apply rigging equipment
  • Operate tools and equipment, including beveling machines, cut-off grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, and a Saw-Zall
  • Layout and install equipment, vessels, skids, pumps, pipe, and supports
  • Hydro test piping systems
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with previous years of experience in the field or a related area
  • Working knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position
  • Ability to understand, follow, and transmit written and oral instructions and communicate effectively with management/supervision
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and layout tools safely and efficiently
  • At least three to five years of industrial construction experience at or above journeyman level
  • Industrial/power/OGC/water/wastewater experience
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
  • Knowledge of fitting carbon and SS pipe, PVC, CPVC, HDPE
  • Ability to work in a construction environment and be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
  • Ability to work irregular hours, weekends, overtime, and holidays as required
  • Ability to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas
  • Ability to move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
  • Ability to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
  • Ability to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across the construction/industrial site
  • Ability to observe and comply with all safety and project rules, perform other duties as required
  • Ability to pass pre-access drug and alcohol testing and fit for duty medical
