Position Overview
We are seeking a Staff Autonomy Systems & Safety Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will:
- Define Vehicle Behaviors: Develop use cases and operational concepts that inform safety analysis and platform requirements. Create an Operational Design Domain (ODD) ontology and collaborate with experts to identify relevant policies and regulations.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with Software, Systems, and Safety Engineering teams to define system architectures and establish system-level requirements for autonomous vehicle capabilities. Conduct detailed data analysis to support requirement rationalization and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
- Facilitate Cross-Functional Activities: Lead co-development initiatives and working groups, support design reviews, and produce high-quality documentation.
- Develop Verification Strategies: Create validation strategies and demonstrate compliance with requirements in partnership with software and testing teams.
- Implement Best Practices: Ensure industry and academic best practices are consistently applied throughout the organization.
- A degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Experience in a safety-critical environment, with knowledge of software development standards and requirements-driven verification strategies.
- Proficiency in Python for engineering tasks and data analysis.
- Experience in writing testable system-level and software-level requirements.
- Ability to assess software design and conduct code reviews.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Familiarity with ISO 26262, ASPICE, and ISO SOTIF standards.
- Knowledge of Artificial Intelligence and Autonomous Systems technologies.
- Experience with C++ and modern software development practices.
- Exposure to various testing methodologies.
