Conemaugh Nason Medical Center is seeking a skilled and dedicated Catheterization Laboratory Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Cardiac Catheterization Lab, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care in a personalized and efficient manner, taking into account the patient's spiritual and cultural differences.
- Collaborate with a Registered Nurse to ensure effective and safe patient care.
- Assist with patient education and teaching, including pre, intra, and post-catheterization instruction.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of policies and procedures.
- Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with instructions, policies, and procedures.
- Restock supplies, check expiration dates, and inform the Manager of impending out-of-stock items.
- Responsible for cleaning the Cath Lab, equipment, and holding area between procedures, adhering to infection control policies and procedures.
- Maintain clinical competency and adhere to safety procedures and guidelines.
- Enter complete and accurate data into established databases.
- Use computer systems for work-related activities, safeguarding all computer information and maintaining confidentiality.
- Adhere to time scheduling, exhibiting flexibility, and assume on-call responsibility.
- Utilize effective communication skills.
- High school graduate or equivalent; associate degree in a related field (Radiology, Surg Tech) or graduate of an allied health care program.
- Basic computer skills.
- Preferred: Knowledge of Access database, 2 years' experience in Cath Lab, and working knowledge of Cath Lab equipment.
- Required certifications: CPR, ARRT, and ACLS.
- Required skills: Ability to apply knowledge base, physical task, and interpersonal skills.
