Job Summary

Vertex Aerospace LLC is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Structural Mechanic - Depot Structures to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing structural repairs and maintenance on aircraft, ensuring the highest level of airworthiness and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Structural Repair and Maintenance: Perform modifications, removal, replacement, and reinstallation actions on aircraft structures to ensure structural integrity and quality.
  • Tool and Equipment Maintenance: Adjust, set-up, troubleshoot, repair, and demonstrate correct usage of shop metal working equipment, hand tools, powered tools, fastener installation tooling, and fixtures.
  • Design and Development: Develop, design, recommend, and determine structural repair and replacement requirements and procedures, including fastener and material type, damaged area cutouts, and more.
  • Part Fabrication: Develop, design, recommend, inspect, and determine metal, plastic, phenolic, and fiberglass part fabrication procedures and template requirements.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical assistance, guidance, and instruction as required to ensure the highest level of airworthiness and safety.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain and complete required records and applicable maintenance forms.
  • Troubleshooting: Use schematics, drawings, charts, and other applicable publications to troubleshoot, repair, test, and modify assigned systems.
  • Aircraft Inventory and Inspection: Perform aircraft inventory, acceptance, and transfer inspections.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of three (3) years of experience as an Airframe Structural Mechanic.
  • Education: Satisfactory completion of U.S. Navy aircraft structural repair AMS A or B school or equivalent aircraft structural repair courses preferred but not required.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Must be able to meet any Government/company licensing/qualification requirements for the position. Must be able to obtain the level of security clearance required by the Government.
  • Physical Demands: Must be able to lift objects whose weight normally will not exceed 50 pounds. Special vision abilities required to perform this job are close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust and focus.
Working Conditions

This classification activity is usually accomplished in a shop environment and as such requires the scope of physical movements and postures normally associated with shop activities. May be required to work in areas where high noise hazards prevail. May be exposed to electrical shock hazards. May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles. May work around moving mechanical parts.
