We are seeking a Sales Associate to join our team at The Salvation Army Central Territory. As a Sales Associate, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service to our shoppers and donors, and aiding in maintaining a clean and well-organized work and shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Present a professional appearance and adhere to the dress code at all times.
  • Accurately manage personal cash drawer, opening, closing, and balancing, and adhere to all Salvation Army money handling procedures.
  • Work to understand the Point of Sales system and complete sales effectively, with proficiency in the system to be obtained within 3 months of employment.
  • Maintain a clean work environment at the cash register and the rest of the store, including cleaning, straightening, hanging, and restocking as needed.
  • Maintain a friendly demeanor and greet customers, asking if they need any assistance.
  • Follow all Salvation Army policies regarding the sale of merchandise.
  • Keep the floor stocked and put new merchandise out, working to meet production goals for the store each day as needed.
  • Be available for a flexible schedule, including evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
Requirements
  • Education: High School Degree or currently pursuing.
  • Experience: Prior experience preferred, but not required.
  • Skills/Abilities: Ability to speak, write, and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with customers, management, and coworkers; basic computer skills, including the use of the Point of Sales System, the payroll program, and all other programs or systems adopted by The Salvation Army ARC; ability to give change accurately.
