Job Title: Driver License Examiner

Ohio, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Driver License Examiner to join our team. As a Driver License Examiner, you will be responsible for conducting examinations of applicants for vehicle operator's licenses, administering driving tests, and evaluating an applicant's ability to drive.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct examinations of applicants for vehicle operator's licenses
  • Administer driving tests to applicants for class D license, motorcycle license, moped license, restricted license, and other exams as required by the Bureau of Motor Vehicles
  • Evaluate and grade an applicant's ability to drive
  • Utilize BMV computer systems to enter applicant information and administer knowledge tests for various license classes and endorsements
  • Conduct written and oral tests to determine an applicant's knowledge of laws and signs
  • Conduct eye tests to determine visual acuity
  • Grade tests to determine an applicant's scores
  • Respond to inquiries concerning the examination process
  • Makes driving test appointments, either by phone, computer, or by personal appearance at the facility
  • Prepare required forms, process applications for licenses, maintain files, and order needed supplies
  • Help to maintain the cleanliness of the facility
Requirements:
  • Formal education in arithmetic that includes calculating fractions, decimals, and percentages, and in reading, writing, and speaking English
  • 1 course or 3 months of experience in human/public relations
  • Successful completion of driver education and safety course and/or defensive driving course, instructor training course, driver license examiner course, or any other related driver training course
  • Valid Ohio Class 'D' Driver License
  • Must be 21 years of age per Section A) (2) (B)
Working Conditions:

This position requires the ability to ride in automobiles with inexperienced drivers, exposure to dust, dirt, and exhaust fumes, exposure to weather conditions when working outside, and required to travel from one examination facility to another as assigned. Must provide own transportation and may be required to work flexible hours.

This position may be filled by a layoff or certification eligibility list. A BCI and FBI fingerprint check, tax check, and background check may be required on all selected applicants. A comparative analysis and/or drug-test may be a requirement of the hiring process.
