Job Summary

The CT Technologist is a vital member of our diagnostic imaging team at HCA Florida Northwest Hospital. As a skilled professional, you will be responsible for producing high-quality computed tomography (CT) scans of patients, ensuring accurate diagnoses and effective treatment plans.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate CT scanners to produce radiographs of designated anatomical areas
  • Position patients using immobilization devices to ensure accurate and safe imaging
  • Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors, such as time and distance, to optimize image quality
  • Communicate effectively with patients, explaining procedures and addressing concerns
  • Assist physicians with invasive procedures, such as biopsies and injections
  • Expose and develop film, and operate mobile equipment in operating rooms, emergency departments, or at patient bedsides
  • Monitor, record, and communicate patient information using computerized documentation systems
  • Utilize knowledge of age-specific patient needs to perform duties and responsibilities
  • Orient and mentor new staff members, promoting a culture of excellence and teamwork
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize radiation exposure to patients and staff
  • Provide a safe environment for administering contrast material, and assist with transporting patients as needed
Requirements
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Radiographer (ARRT) certification
  • State Registered Radiologic Technician certification
  • Registered Computerized Tomography Technician certification
  • High School Graduate or equivalent
