Job Summary

The Truck Driver / Material Handler is responsible for loading, unloading, and transporting materials and finished products safely to meet customer demand and meet on-time delivery. This role requires a self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and a desire to perform duties to the highest standard.

Key Responsibilities
  • Transports material throughout the plant using proper equipment and/or crane for producing, finishing, packaging, or shipping the customer product.
  • Ensures departments are supplied with parts.
  • Moves and stages material as scheduled for optimum efficiency.
  • Provides building support by transporting materials and ensuring lines are cleared of finished product.
  • Loads finished product for shipment.
  • Follows packing slips in order to match product with proper packaging and skidding.
  • Performs miscellaneous tasks throughout the plant to ensure safe, efficient, and quality production of materials.
  • Transports paperwork to the proper location.
  • General housekeeping duties throughout the plant's yards.
  • Continued communication and updates of schedule changes.
Requirements
  • Class A CDL required.
  • Must have a positive attitude and a desire to continually improve.
  • Preferred experience in heavy hauling logistics, heavy equipment, organization, attention to detail, basic math skills, and 6 months of previous logistics experience.
  • Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.
  • Standard safety training.

Must be able to exert moderate to heavy physical effort with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds. Must have a strong range of motion. Must be able to sit, stand, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and bend. Must be able to see, speak, and hear. Must be able to read instructions and all measuring devices. Must use fingers and hands to manipulate tools and small parts. Must be able to walk over both even and uneven surfaces. Must be able to work in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold. Must be able to wear appropriate PPE. Must be physically able to access all areas of the plant and grounds. Some aspects of this position may require working in tight quarters. Must be physically able to move in and out of equipment.

Some aspects of this position may require close vision, depth perception, the ability to see small detail, and the ability to adjust focus.
