We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Technologist to join our team at Houston Methodist Cypress Hospital. As a Lead Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technologist, you will be responsible for performing complex cardiovascular procedures, leading a team of technologists, and ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of routine and highly specialized interventional and therapeutic cardiac or electrophysiology procedures, including peripheral and coronary angioplasty, stents, rotablators, artherectomy, laser, and coronary ultrasound.
- Exercise independent judgment and execution of above-average clinical skills on challenging procedures and patient care situations.
- Lead a team of technologists, providing guidance, training, and feedback to ensure optimal performance and patient care.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities for process improvement and contributing to the development of new procedures and protocols.
- Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s) indicated below; if required credential/registry acquired after September 1, 2013, Associates degree required.
- Completion of Invasive Cardiovascular Technology program recognized by Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Program (CAAHEP) highly preferred.
- At least 3 years experience as a Cardiovascular Technologist, with prior experience in a lead or supervisory role, or HM experience and performance that demonstrates leadership abilities.
- RCIS - Registered Cardiovasculoar Invasive Specialist (CCI) OR RCES - Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (CCI) AND BLS - Basic Life Support (AHA) AND ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support (AHA).
- Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform the assigned job, determined through on-going skills and competency assessments.
- Ability to work independently, handling challenging/difficult diagnostic procedures and patient care situations.
- Possesses basic computer knowledge, operating multiple computer systems to include Hospital/Radiology Information Systems and Office software to maintain patient and exam documents.
- Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers.
