Position Overview

Role Summary:

Orthopaedic Specialty Group, P.C. is actively seeking a per diem MRI Imaging Specialist. In this role, you will be tasked with ensuring the proper functioning of imaging apparatus to guarantee patient safety and optimal positioning during scans. Strong interpersonal communication skills are essential, as you will engage with both physicians and patients effectively. The MRI Imaging Specialist will also be responsible for collecting patient medical histories, elucidating the scanning procedure, and meticulously reviewing and documenting all patient-related records. Additionally, you will assist Radiologists with specialized procedures such as arthrograms. Candidates should possess the technical expertise and physical capability necessary to operate the MRI scanner efficiently.


Educational Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical institution.
  • ARRT (R) certification is mandatory.
  • ARRT (R)(MRI) certification is preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct MRI procedures as directed, ensuring high standards of quality, care, and promptness.
  • Guide patients to changing areas and procedure rooms.
  • Clarify MRI procedures and address any inquiries or concerns from patients.
  • Adhere to all MRI safety protocols.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately.
  • Administer intravenous contrast as required.
  • Perform Quality Control checks as needed, monitoring equipment and reporting any issues to the site supervisor or manager.
  • Support Radiologists during arthrogram procedures.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and well-stocked scanning environment.

Additional Information:

  • Uphold patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations and the practice's compliance standards.
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of practice management and relevant software as it pertains to job responsibilities.
  • Participate in regular staff meetings and continuing education opportunities as requested.

Typical Physical Requirements:

This position may involve prolonged periods of sitting, as well as stooping, bending, and stretching to access supplies. Manual dexterity is necessary for operating a keyboard, computer, MRI equipment, and other office machinery. Vision must be correctable to 20/20, and hearing should be within the normal range for telephone communications. The role also requires the ability to view computer screens and type for extended durations.
