Key Responsibilities
The Licensed Practical Nurse/Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN/LPN) is responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-focused care through a variety of essential patient care services. Collaborating with the RN and other healthcare professionals, the LPN/LVN ensures individualized and comprehensive care aligned with specialty standards.
- Deliver direct, evidence-based care to patients as instructed by the physician or RN.
- Assist with medical procedures, monitoring, and other tasks as required.
- Conduct lab and procedural tests within the LVN/LPN scope of practice after demonstrating proficiency.
- Accurately document care provided in the patient medical record.
- Act as a resource for department staff, students, and volunteers to enhance patient care quality.
Qualifications
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment.
- Licensed Practical or Vocational Nurse (LPN or LVN) certification.
- Associate Degree or completion of a Vocational Nursing program.
