Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled RN Charge Nurse to lead our Long Term Care team. As a frontline leader, you will work under the direction of the Manager/Director to coordinate unit activities, ensuring safe and effective patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate patient care by shift and department
  • Supervise and assess clinical practice, directing and delegating to other team members
  • Coach staff for performance improvement, including orientation, competencies, and evaluations
  • Develop the departmental team and collaborative relationships to achieve expected outcomes
  • Serve as a clinical and resource expert for the department
  • Articulate shift/team operational issues to management as appropriate
  • Adapt decision-making style to the situation and level of authority for achieving an optimal outcome
  • Identify and apply opportunities for clinical practice improvement and support staff
  • Ensure professional effectiveness through education and professional development
Requirements
  • Accredited School of Nursing Required
  • Bachelor's Degree Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing
  • Preferred: Specialty certification
  • Satisfactory performance in staff nurse classification (minimum three years) required
  • One-year experience as a designated charge nurse or other supervisory position preferred
  • Registered Nurse in state of practice Required
  • Basic Life Support Required Upon Hire
Working Conditions

This role requires the ability to lift up to 35 lbs. without assistive equipment, fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment, and the ability to move around the area with frequent sitting.
