Job Title: Aircraft Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Aircraft Mechanic to join our team at Southern Airways Corporation. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of our fleet aircraft.

Job Summary:

The ideal candidate will have experience working on PT6A and/or CE-208 engines, as well as BE-1900 aircraft. You will be responsible for performing maintenance and inspections in accordance with FARs, manufacturer's recommendations, TCDS, ICAs, and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform maintenance and inspections on aircraft systems and components
  • Troubleshoot systems and components, airframe, and powerplant
  • Complete log entries for work accomplished
  • Maintain a clean and professional work area
  • Perform aircraft run and taxi as required for system test and performance
Requirements:
  • Current A&P certificate, IA is a plus
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience
  • Ownership/possession of basic tools to complete the job tasks
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow maintenance manuals, drawings, and wiring prints
  • Ability to work within a 24/7 operation, including holidays
  • Ability to pass 10-year background check and pre-employment drug screen
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. per the Immigration Act of 1986
  • Ability to maintain SIDA access
  • Able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Able to document on-the-job training and successfully complete training as required by company
Physical Requirements:
  • Able to bend, squat, kneel, and stand for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift 40 pounds
  • Able to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Must be able to meet all physical requirements related to aircraft weight limitations before and during employment
