Position Overview
We are in search of a dedicated individual to join our fiber optics assembly team. This role involves the assembly of fiber optic products through various specialized processes within a clean-room setting. The selected candidate will also engage in additional assembly tasks, which may encompass fiber pull testing, cleaving, splicing, stripping, cutting, and connectorization.
Key Responsibilities
- Accountable for producing high-quality work that adheres to established standards, with an emphasis on continuous improvement to fulfill customer commitments on time and within budget.
- Operate with minimal supervision on tasks that are often non-routine, adjusting procedures, techniques, tools, materials, and equipment to accommodate specific requirements.
- Effectively communicate with various departments, including Engineering, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Sales.
- Maintain a safe working environment by following all safety protocols, particularly those related to handling materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment.
- Polish fiber lenses regularly for various applications.
- Perform additional assembly functions, including fiber pull testing, cleaving, splicing, stripping, cutting, and connectorization.
- Comprehend written work instructions, mechanical drawings, and schematics to assemble products to the highest quality standards, ensuring zero scrap or rework.
- Willingness to work overtime as necessary to meet production demands and organizational objectives.
- Support and promote the mission, values, and culture of the organization.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 2+ years of experience in relevant fields such as Electronic Assembly, Fiber Optics, or Micro-mechanical Assembly.
- Ability to work independently while under the supervision of others.
- Proficient in using small hand tools, including tweezers, vacuum wands, and hex drivers.
- Capable of performing inspections with both low and high-powered microscopes.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office is preferred.
- Experience in a clean-room environment is advantageous.
- Flexibility to work either the first or second shift, as well as overtime to meet production needs.
