About the Role

MKN is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical CAD Designer to join our team of water resources engineering and planning experts. As a key member of our drafting/design team, you will be responsible for creating construction plans for water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure using AutoCAD and Civil 3D.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in a drafting/design team to create construction plans for water, wastewater, and recycled water infrastructure
  • Create record drawings from field notes and markups
  • Draft construction details
  • Create ground surfaces and profiles
  • Design pipelines, structures, and mechanical equipment, such as booster pump stations, lift stations, and treatment plants
  • Perform quantity takeoffs of construction documents
Requirements and Expectations

We are looking for a candidate with significant coursework or a degree in computer-aided drafting and design. A minimum of 5 years of experience is preferred. Excellent written and oral communication skills are required, as well as eagerness and enthusiasm to serve on a wide variety of planning and engineering projects throughout California.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this role will be between $50.00 and $60.00 per hour based on education and experience. The firm offers competitive benefits and an opportunity for mentorship by a senior team with water/wastewater/recycled water infrastructure experience on major regional projects throughout the western US.
