Aircraft Interior Technician Job Description

STS Technical Services is seeking skilled Aircraft Interior Technicians to work on sophisticated private aircraft in Perryville, Missouri.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform general mechanical tasks on aircraft interiors and related systems.
• Execute minor modifications with minimal direction.
• Complete daily turnover sheets, work order processes, and weight and balance data.
• Maintain and repair shop facility, equipment, and tooling.
• Utilize basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Ensure cleanliness of the shop and surroundings.
• Work independently when required.
• Communicate effectively and clearly in English (speak, write, read).
• Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by the supervisor or management.

Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Licenses: Valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required.
• Physical Requirements:
  • Lift and carry at least 50 lbs.
  • Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting.
  • Routine or repetitive physical motion with arms and hands, emphasizing grasping, feeling, and finger dexterity.
  • Standing for long periods.
  • Climbing ladders and stairs, working in small restricted areas.
• Mental Requirements:
  • Understanding and implementation of regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to OSHA, Hazmat, etc.
  • Ability to work professionally with others.
  • Plan and organize procedures and operations.
  • Read various reports and blueprints.
• Supervision:
  • Work under the supervision of the assigned Team Leader and Interior Management.
  • May supervise other technicians in some capacity.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision when required.
• Working Conditions:
  • Majority of work performed in a hangar or shop environment.
  • Occasionally work outside on the ramp.
  • Varied positions in and around the aircraft.
• Equipment Used:
  • Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic.
  • Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc.
  • Sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders.
  • Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment.
  • Spray booth and all related equipment.
