Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality and Sanitation Operations Manager to join our team at Conagra Brands. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for directing and overseeing quality and sanitation program-related functions on-site. This role requires a strong leader who can schedule and assign workloads, provide training and technical assistance to quality, sanitation, and production team members, and maintain a close partnership with production to identify, solve, and prevent problems affecting quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Quality Assurance Activities
    • Coordinate quality assurance activities, including audits, training, purchasing, and other related tasks.
    • Monitor and verify the Food Safety Plan and Critical Control Points (CCPs) following policy and procedure.
  • Technical Assistance and Training
    • Provide technical assistance and training to QA, quality, and manufacturing personnel.
  • Sanitation and GMP Audits
    • Conduct GMP and sanitation audits of operations and warehouse areas.
  • Operations Support
    • Work with operations personnel on quality, safety, and sanitation issues.
    • Verify operations control systems are functional and being followed.
  • Customer Complaints and Product Disposition
    • Coordinate resolution of customer complaints when necessary.
    • Place product on hold, release, or disposition as necessary while observing policy and procedure.
  • Documentation and Record-Keeping
    • Complete quality documentation review per schedule.
    • Complete analytical reviews of product and processes.
    • Maintain all necessary lab certifications and cross-checks.
  • Sanitation Schedule and Procedures
    • Maintain, modify, and review the plant Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS), the Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) per FDA regulations, and Environmental Swabbing Program.
  • Corrective Action and Record-Keeping
    • Develop and implement corrective action around any sanitation or pest control failures identified.
    • Maintain records of all activities.
  • Leadership and Support
    • Be the back-up for Plant Quality Manager in their absence.
    • Substitute SQF practitioner.
Requirements
  • Education
    • BS Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Food Science, or other related degree required.
  • Experience
    • 3-5 years industry experience.
  • Leadership and Supervisory Experience
    • Leadership and/or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of food safety, food manufacturing processes, technologies, or other relevant responsibilities.
