Aircraft Quality Control Inspector Job Description

FEAM Aero is seeking an experienced Aircraft Quality Control Inspector to join our team in Erlanger, KY. As a key member of our quality control team, you will be responsible for ensuring the airworthiness of aircraft maintenance work and maintaining high standards of aeronautical workmanship and inspection standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform inspection functions for aircraft, including power plant, materials parts, and sub-assemblies.
  • Review aircraft and engine logbooks at all checks and list all pilot reports and deferred maintenance items on the appropriate work cards.
  • Perform required inspection functions during all checks, such as airframe and engine inspections called out on routine work cards.
  • Inspectors must be thoroughly familiar with all inspection methods, techniques, and equipment used in their area of responsibility.
  • Responsible for identifying, controlling, segregating, and maintaining all stock and tools to a serviceable or unserviceable category.
  • Monitor all aircraft inspection records and forms to ensure proper completion of all entries.
  • Inspectors will find and record discrepancies requiring corrective action.
  • Identify Required Inspection Items (RII) as defined by the customer's General Maintenance Manual (GMM) or Operation Procedures Manual.
  • Inspectors will check the work performed by a technician to the extent specified for conformity to acceptable technical and workmanship standards.
Requirements:
  • FAA A&P certificate required.
  • Minimum three years' experience in an aviation maintenance environment.
  • Must be willing to work irregular schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays when required.
  • Must be a US citizen or hold a green card (form I551).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • General Familiarization on B757, B767, B747, and Airbus 330.
  • Experience with Quality Control, inspection techniques, document control, corrective and preventative actions, continuous improvement, risk management, and supplier reviews.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to set and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
  • Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Possess a high degree of proficiency with MS Office products (including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
