Chief Space Systems Engineer

SAIC is seeking a highly experienced Chief Space Systems Engineer to support Space Systems Command Space Domain Awareness and Combat Power (SSC/SZ) portfolio.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead technical requirements development, systems engineering, and oversee development contractor to develop, design, produce, integrate and test space systems.
- Oversee payload integration and interface control management.
- Perform system integration of multiple efforts to integrate complex space systems, ground segment integration, and deployment into operations.
- Manage and negotiate interface control documents with external stakeholders.
- Perform systems architecting and engineering activities such as system requirements definition, interface definition, design, interface management, data architecture development, systems integration, performance analysis, lifecycle cost analysis & estimation, decision analysis, and development and refinement of communications concepts of operation.
- Oversee requirements verification and validation.
- Makes program risks assessments and provides actionable recommendations to the chief engineer and program manager.
- Independently collaborate with Government program office representatives, FFRDC, SETA, and contractor personnel.
- Bachelor of Science and eighteen (18) years or more experience; Master's and sixteen (16) years or more experience or an additional 4 years of experience may be used in lieu of degree.
- Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a TS/SCI and be willing to consent to a polygraph examination.
- Experience with space systems development, integration, and/or operations of DoD or other Agency (NRO, NSA, NASA, etc.).
- Experience leading systems engineering teams focused on integration of complex space and/or ground systems.
Target salary range: $200,001 - $240,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
COVID-19 Policy: SAIC does not require COVID-19 vaccinations or boosters. Customer site vaccination requirements must be followed when work is performed at a customer site.
