Program Overview

At Securian Financial Group, we offer a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to gain hands-on experience in the actuarial field. Our internship program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the profession and its applications in the insurance industry.

As an intern, you will have the chance to work on real-world projects, collaborate with experienced professionals, and develop valuable skills in data analysis, financial modeling, and risk management.

Responsibilities

Our actuarial internship program has two primary goals: to provide students with an opportunity to explore the actuarial field as a possible career choice and to identify potential full-time talent. As an intern, you will be involved in a variety of actuarial research activities, including expense studies, lapse studies, rate management analysis, product pricing, process automation, and more.

These activities will provide you with an overall exposure to the profession of actuarial science and help you develop a deeper understanding of the industry.

Requirements

To be eligible for this internship, you must be a successful track record in a four-year degree program in Math or Actuarial Science. You should also have proven project and people leadership skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
