The RN utilizes evidence-based practice, technology, and coordination of care with other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive patient care. Key responsibilities include:
- Assessing and addressing patients' physical and psychological needs
- Fostering quality care with the best interests of patients and their families in mind
- Communicating effectively and compassionately with patients, families, and healthcare team members
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Complying with evaluation, treatment, and documentation guidelines
- Overseeing care delivered by LPNs and/or CNAs
- Participating in clinical team conferences
- Following hospital, regulatory, and professional guidelines, policies, and procedures
To be successful in this role, the RN must possess:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing
- Current license as a Registered Nurse in the state of practice
- Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification
- Ability to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients
- Manual dexterity to manipulate complex and delicate equipment
- Ability to navigate crowded and busy rooms
