Job Description

As a Physical Therapist at The University of Chicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial, you will play a vital role in the academic healthcare system at Ingalls Memorial Hospital in Tinley Park. Your primary responsibility will be to examine, evaluate, test, and work to alleviate mechanical, physiological, or developmental impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or other health and movement-related conditions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate patients using advanced/specialized tests and measurements to determine the physical therapy problem/level of function and the expected discharge environment.
  • Promote and utilize appropriate patient care protocols relating to the physical, psychosocial, and developmental needs of adult patients.
  • Establish a treatment plan based on evaluation findings, patient/family, referring practitioner, and therapist's goals.
  • Perform advanced/specialized physical therapy techniques and procedures.
  • Treat patients with complex problems, such as co-morbidities and/or poor previous outcomes, and consult on difficult cases for staff and referring practitioners.
  • Document findings, patient progress, and procedures performed, and time required.
  • Instruct patient/families in home programs.
  • Demonstrate effective time management and achieve designated productivity standards.

Required Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited program with a minimum Bachelor's Degree, Master's or Doctorate preferred.
  • Licensed, or eligible, in the state of Illinois with Notification of eligibility for examination.
  • Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
