Key Responsibilities:
- Follow established procedures for basic tasks, seeking guidance for any deviations.
- Accurately read gas meters for various customer types and document readings for billing.
- Identify and report safety concerns and encroachments.
- Operate company vehicles in compliance with all regulations.
- Conduct pre and post-trip inspections of service vehicles and maintain security protocols.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding safety, customer satisfaction, and productivity issues.
- Familiarize yourself with the Operating Manual and contribute to a safe working environment.
- Maintain required Operator Qualifications and complete necessary training.
- Engage with customers professionally, ensuring clear communication.
- Uphold a professional image and deliver exceptional customer service.
- Prepare and manage work orders and job-related documentation.
- Handle equipment weighing up to 60 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Perform extensive walking to read meters and operate necessary equipment.
- Demonstrate a strong sense of smell and attention to detail when recording meter readings.
- Ensure compliance with company and government safety standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
- Strong communication skills for interaction with customers and team members.
- Basic numeric skills for performing calculations.
- Proficient computer skills for data entry and retrieval.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
- Capability to work in adverse weather conditions.
- Understanding of DOT regulations.
- Ability to interpret documents and manuals.
- Commitment to teamwork and safety practices.
- Maintain cleanliness and perform minor maintenance on equipment.
Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, and walk.
- Occasionally required to lift items up to 20 pounds.
