Helicopter Pilot

As a Helicopter Pilot with Air Methods, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transportation of medical crew and patients to receiving hospitals within an assigned operational area. This role requires a high level of expertise and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner, adhering to Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), Aeronautical Information Manual (AIM), and General Operations Manual guidelines.
• Complete pre-flight checks to verify the aircraft is airworthy, and perform a thorough walk-around inspection before each flight.
• Exercise final authority regarding aircraft operations and passenger safety.
• Maintain a thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems, and ensure the medical flight team is familiar with the medical interior and systems.
• Complete required documentation and participate in regular meetings and activities.

• Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, and two to five years of related experience and/or training.
• Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) Program requirements, including 2500 total flight hours, 1000 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) time, and 500 hours of rotor wing turbine time.
• First or Second Class FAA Medical certificate required.
